Formue is the leading independent wealth manager in the Nordics.

We help wealthy individuals, their families and foundations, protect their wealth, but also grow their wealth over time. And how we do that, is we give them independent investment advice, we allocate their assets, and we provide holistic financial planning.

Formue has had an amazing growth journey since it was initially founded. 25 years ago. And we see - especially during the last 3, 4, 5 years - an accelerated growth curve beyond our home market, which is Norway.

Well, it's very costly to have old systems - just ask the big banks. But we are actually two things; We are a technology company, and then we are an investment company. We are both - with needs, not only due to the fact that we have 6,000 customers, but we are in three different countries at the same time, and might expand in the future. We need systems which can help us to achieve that and not systems that delay any kind of process.

Across the Nordics now, we're seeing quite high growth. This comes not only in the amount of capital, but also more customers and different customers as well. And I would say we're expanding into more product-categories and also providing new services all the time. So it's kind of a wide area of growth that we're experiencing across the business now. We wanted to have a system that was configurable because of our growth-ambitions.

It became clear that we needed to move to the cloud when we had a cyber attack in 2022. There was no choice. We had to move to the cloud. As we manage more than 180 billion NOK in assets for our clients, the number one priority for us is safety. And that is a criteria we cannot budge on. And so in choosing a provider, that was clearly the number one factor to filter for. And then after that, it was to find someone that could follow us on our growth journey.

So, the business decisions are the critical ones, not the system. That's the other way around, right? We want to have the flexibility to do what we should do, to provide, in my department, the help to help 6,000 customers - with 6,000 different needs. Then the ground floor has to be a flexible system and nothing else.

Business NXT was the right platform for us, because it gave us that speed and the agility that we needed without compromising on security. And we felt that it was a solution that we could see ourselves growing with, in the Nordics, but also then eventually outside of the Nordics.

Throughout the transition we had support from Exsitec and Visma. And they were important team members for us in terms of helping us put forward evaluations that had to be made, and decisions, and also very much in the implementation work.

To, to be honest, the transition wasn't easy, right? It was a lot of work, especially for my department. But having them alongside us really made it easier, safer, and quicker.
